Jelly Roll quilt along

Moose on the porch quilts is having a quilt a long.
I am not sure how it is going to look but what the hey!
I have a boutique jelly roll sitting here waiting to be used so keep your fingers crossed for me and I will keep you guys updated on the progress.
I also started a new quilt yesterday, I know and I agree. I think I am insane!
I am hand piecing a Double Wedding Ring Quilt, using the left over fabric from Mums quilt. I can't wait to see some progress. It takes so long to draw seam allowances and cut out!
Yeah yeah, I know, Insane!!!
I'll try post some photos. If I get a circle finished any time soon...

Jelly Filled

A couple of posts ago I told you about my Wonderland quilt and that My mother in law and sister in law had made the same quilt out of different fabrics?
Well, this is them. It was really lucky that they were bound and finished by the time I arrived to take photos!
The first one is Judy's. She made it out of Urban Couture by Basic Grey. This is a close up of the quilting done by Linda.
This quilt is Linda's. She used Cotton Blossoms by Bonnie and Camille. It is a lot brighter in person. They both look so awesome! It's hard to believe that all three are the same pattern!
I love that!

See, Linda, I told you I had photos of last weekend to blog about! ; )

Word for the day... Productive!

Mum came over for the day yesterday and because we are staying home alot at the moment due to the toilet being needed at a moments notice. We decided to sew!
This is the quilt that I started last year for Jakey. I wanted a masculine one and one that he wouldn't grow out of so, Once we chose between black fabric and the fairies (fairies lost!) I got started.
It was so hard to find black prints that didn't have flowers! I made it from the Bento Box pattern. It measures approx 80 x 70 inches.
I love how it looks! It looks like something is wrong but right at the same time! Perfect for a teenager!

This next quilt was the second quilt I ever started, Way back in Aug 2008. It began as a hand pieced quilt but after adding all the borders to the dinosaurs, It got put aside and kinda just got forgotten about.

Yes, they are supposed to be wonky.
I have decided this is the year to finish all my quilts and start the ones I have planned and bought the fabric for. So, Out comes the dinosaur quilt and out comes the sewing machine.
sashings and borders were added and now is finished and waiting to be quilted! Yay!
For some reason I thought that it was gonna be a small quilt. I was wrong. It's a fair size at 62 inches square.
We also got a pair of pants and a pair of shorts finished for Nick.
All this finished in one day!
Love it!!!
Hope yours was just as good!

Hmm, Quiet time...

This last week hasn't been filled with lots of exciting anecdotes to tell everyone but I did get some painting done and I did get some other things done that needed doing.
On the sewing front, I sewed some trim on some tea towels for a gift, and I finally finished my Mum's pillow cases and cushion cover! Can't wait to see it all together on her bed. Now I've just got to get my bed looking as nice!
Hopefully tomorrow I will have a finished Bento Box quilt top to show! I can't wait to finish this one! Its at the exciting "nearly" finished stage. Yay!
My little fella has taken a huge leap to becoming a "Big Boy" this weekend, No more nappies, I never knew a toilet would make me so happy!!!
Linda, My super talented sister in law from my last post has started a blog (Yay!) so if you get a chance pop over and give her some love! She has posted pics of her Jelly Filled quilt made from Cotton Blossoms. It looks great and so so so different to mine.
Even though its been a quiet time, Its all good.
Hope everyone out there is happy and healthy!

Disappear in Wonderland....

This is my Wonderland quilt, Yes, Original name huh? Who would've thought to name a quilt after the fabric range : ) Oh well, Makes it easy to remember!

My Parents completely spoil me, ( and I love it!) Mum, the Boys and Me made a trip over to Ballarat Patchwork one day for one of their sales and Dad gave her firm instructions to buy me fabric! Who am I to argue with that order? So, a Wonderland jelly roll and some yardage to match came home with us.

I used the Jelly Filled pattern by Thimbleblossoms.

I didn't quite have enough fabric for the back so I searched through all my scraps and this is what I came up with. I love it. Its so much nicer than a plain back so I think I'm gonna get more creative with my backings. This could be scary...

My Super talented Sister in law quilted it for me on her Gammill. She's amazing at what she does. Gee I've chosen pretty well , Not only have I got the best fiance in the world, He comes with a great family. Lucky Lucky Lucky!!!
Linda (Sister in Law) and Judy ( Mother In Law) have made a quilt out of the same pattern in different fabric so I'll try to get some photos when we are up there later this month.

60!

She is gonna kill me but... I had to share the birthday joy!
Hope you had a great birthday Mum!
I did some more paper piecing for one of her presents. They became pillowcases to match her Christmas present.

I started this quilt early last year and only just got it finished for Santa to deliver! Phew!
We are both so happy with how it turned out! I bought enough fabric to make 2 of these quilts, So we could each have one but after finishing Mums I think I'll use a different design for mine! Way too much work to make another!
I've gotta get some work done this week so I don't think I'll have time to get any sewing done but I do have class tonight so I'll have to make the most of that!

I can handle this!

It was way to hot to work on the big red car the other afternoon so my Spunky Fella and I came inside to wait for it to cool down, I couldn't let a good opportunity go by without doing some sewing.... I decided to get some work done on my Paris collection By Cinderberry stitches.
I didn't have the right stuff for the handles! Spewin! But, I can wait..... a bit. I used the sweet fabric range and I love it! Lucky.... cause last year I seemed to buy heaps of it!

This is the needle case that was in the set. I've never made a bag or a needle case before so it was quite fun. I didn't have any felt so.. My needle case doesn't actually hold needles yet but that's just a minor problem.
So I have a bag with no handles and a needle case that doesn't hold needles.
What more could I want?
