Who Knew?
After years of devoted watching and idolising, I have recently found out that life is not like an episode of Scrubs!
Hospitals are not filled with fun loving, day dreaming cute guys and funny chicks.
Sick is not fun.
Who knew?
I had better keep watching just in case they change direction so I can let you know ;)
OK, Yes, I still love J.D. and Yes watching makes me feel better even if I have seen the episode 6 times already.
Scrubs is still the greatest show ever, even if somehow its not based on reality!

Tail feathers, so close...
My camera never seems to be around when I want it at the moment! I think it knows...
So, this is gonna be a photoless post. Sorry.
I am so so so close to having a completed Tail Feathers quilt top! This quilt is so super cute!!!
I have got 3 borders to sew on on and its done!
I will try to bribe my camera to make an appearance so I can show some photos on here.
I don't know how I'm gonna quilt it???
I can't make up my mind on either machine or hand quilting and then there is the design of what to quilt...
Any ideas?

I blame Tula!
I tried.
I did!
I tried really hard.
I didn't buy anything at any of the Christmas sales.
Not even Fat Quarter Shops lead up to Christmas sale.
I was doing good!
until..... I needed some thread for my tail feathers quilt. I am in my final pieces of this quilt and I needed some more red thread for the "tail feathers".
I went to my local, and guess what!?! they had 30% off all fabric. Yep 30% off!!!
I have been eyeing off some hushabye for quite a while so yes, It came home with me.
I can see a new bag in my future!
Of course this is Tula's fault, Her fabrics are way too nice to not own! Now, to start saving for Plume...
Maybe I should just finsh my Neptune quilts first!

work done, Yay!!!
Last week while the weather was nice and comfortable I booked in a trailer to paint. It was due to be delivered on Monday night and finished by Thursday night.
Well, as Monday arrived, OMG!!! 44 degs in Melbourne!!! Stinky hot!!! followed by similar weather on Tuesday with a late change.
Hmm, that's not quite ideal painting weather...
But, I finished it already! It was an approximately 5ft square picture of a hot rod on a trailer with some writing.
It's done, Its done, It's done done done!!! YAY!!!
Can you hear that? I think its my sewing machine calling me! I better go, I'd hate to keep it waiting!

I am back home and since I have a spare day or two I think I deserve some sewing time!
I am so close to finishing the hand stitching on my tail feathers quilt, I just can't stop thinking about it!!!
Verna honeybun update: 10 blocks completed! many still to go...

Kustom Nats 2010
This weekend was the annual Kustom Nats. It is a HUGE car show for hot rods and old cars in general. We saw plenty of cars to add to our wish list!
This 1960 Chev was for sale, I asked my spunky fella to buy it for me. No luck :(
Probably best though. I have an unhealthy love for my car. It is a 1963 Holden. His name is Kermie and although he been a bit unloved lately He know's his my favorite car ever!
It was nice to get out this weekend and enjoy our friends company and see so many nice cars, Listen to some live bands and have an awesome time!

Not too good!
I went out last night...
One of my bestest friends ever and her gorgeous son came to stay with us for a couple of nights so we headed down to Phillip Island last night to check out some hot rods and hear some bands play.
We managed to catch up with a heap of old friends and had a fantastic night but somehow I think I had a few too many beverages...hmmm...
I don't feel too well this morning. Ok I just looked at the clock. I dont feel too well this afternoon :(
I took my camera to get some awesome shots of the rods but they will have to wait for another post.
We are headed back tomorrow for the Kustom Nats so hopefully I will have heaps and heaps for you to check out Monday.
Hot one here today. Argh!

Good idea in theory...
Nearly 2 months ago I was lucky enough to buy myself a Verna Honeybun. Yay! This range is amazing, I love it!!! I thought I'd put it away til I had just the right pattern. Well, a couple of nights ago I had one of those genius ideas. ( genius then, not so genius now...) I got out my Jelly roll, layer cake and charm square book and some graph paper and converted one of their patterns to fit a honeybun. I went to sleep that night really excited about how great it was gonna look. I knew it would be smaller but in my thinking the pieces would be smaller but there would be more per strip. Makes sense to me!
I think I know why it wasn't a pattern for honeybuns. Each block has 36 pieces in it. Yeah I know, thats not too bad, BUT... each block finished will measure 6 inches.
What was I thinking!!!
